Eugenio Romerica Abunda Jr., popularly known as Boy Abunda, is a professor, television host, publicist and talent manager.
Boy started out in show business as a stage actor and eventually as an assistant stage manager.
Abunda started hosting through Startalk, a talk show about entertainment, and Show & Tell, a late-night variety show with Gretchen Barretto. Later, in 1999, he relocated to ABS-CBN, a rival to GMA Network, where he has since hosted the programs The Buzz, Private Conversations, Homeboy, Kontrobersyal, SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon, and the talk show interview The Bottomline with Boy Abunda.
The King of Talk has returned to his former home network earlier after signing a contract with GMA-7. It was just recently when he appeared in Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.
At one point, they talked about his friendship with Queen of All Media Kris Aquino. He stressed that he and the actress-host are “okay.”
According to Boy Abunda, he last spoke to Kris before the latter went to the US for her treatment. While admitting that there’s no perfect friendship, he said that he and Kris don’t have any conflict with each other.
