On Friday, Mendes seemingly confirmed that they are in fact married, a rumor that’s been circulating for ages.
Mendes was making an an appearance on Channel Nine’s Today to talk about her charity work in Australia. Meanwhile, Gosling is currently filming new his movie, The Fall Guy, in the land down under. During her interview, Mendes was talking about the warm reception they’d received, and casually referred to Gosling as her “husband.”
The comment follows a post on Instagram of her inner wrist tattoo, that reads “de Gosling,” and which her followers took to be a reference the tradition of adding a husband’s last name to one’s own, using “de” (“of” in English). So, “de Gosling” translates to “of Gosling.”
She then made some remarks on an episode of Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show
The couple got together in 2011 and they share two daughters, Esmerelda, eight, and Amada, six.
