It was in September this year when Navarro turned himself in to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) following the issuance of an arrest warrant for r*pe (non-bailable offense) filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo. A warrant for Navarro’s arrest was also issued for acts of lasciviousness, but he later posted P36,000 bail.
After being held by the NBI for two months, Navarro was transferred to the Taguig City Jail after Cornejo’s legal team contested the jurisdiction of the warrant. He stayed there for only two weeks after posting bail (P1 million) last Monday granted to him by the Taguig Regional Trial Court 69. The following day, he was released from detention. His wife Tanya Bautista was among those who fetched him.
According to Vhong Navarro, he plans to make a return to “It’s Showtime,” which he has been co-hosting since 2009 after sufficient rest time.
Billy just came from France wherein he won the Danse avec les stars, the French edition of Dancing With The Stars. According to him, he has recent communication with Vhong. He said he’s happy for the “temporary liberty” of the actor.
Billy Crawford said that the who industry was sad following his detention. He’s hoping that his case will be resolved in due time.
