WOULD YOU RATHER #16 RESULTS
It was a close battle, but the flower boy came out on top, earning a mere 23 more votes than the competition. Interestingly, based on the comments section alone, it seems as though this particular poll was largely divided down the line of introversion versus extroversion — because many Beanies suggested that they voted based on which side of the line they fell.
Introverts — like @enriquequierecagar, @gikata, and @darwi — who admittedly avoid contact with their neighbors chose to live next door to the flower boy. If they aren’t likely to befriend their neighbor, then it makes sense that they would select the more physically attractive option, as the eye candy is the only major benefit for them. Plus, as @isagc pointed out, there’s always the risk that the alien is of the dangerous variety, and sometimes self-preservation wins out over the curiosity of confirming that there’s life beyond our planet.
Our extroverts, on the other hand, assume that they will have more direct contact with their neighbor. Maybe they pop over for a cup of “sugar,” or like the leading lady of You From Another Star, get drunk and bang on their neighbor’s door in the middle of the night. Either way, having an alien as a neighbor could be beneficial — assuming you work up the gumption to make contact. Once the initial social interaction is out of the way, then comes the opportunity to learn all about his “intergalactic travels,” which @mayhemf was particularly excited about. Plus, if his species is planning to destroy our planet, then maybe @shinayame is right in that it’s actually safest to befriend the alien.
Hands down, though, the best option in @luckywargoddess’s opinion is a “smart, cool, and romantic” alien who looks like Kim Soo-hyun. And I highly suspect most of Team Alien voted under the assumption he’d be attractive — like getting the best of both worlds! So how many of you would have still picked the alien if I’d said it looked like E.T.? Given that @minkathedreamer admittedly voted for the flower boy under the assumption that alien handsomeness was not a guarantee, I suspect that the voting results would be drastically different… well, unless an equally large number of you are like @kurama and will choose an unattractive alien over a handsome one because you’re less likely to develop an inferiority complex. 👽
